A daughter charged with trying to kill her mum has had a warrant issued for her arrest.

Helena Happell (42) and co-accused Mary Hawthorn (33) had been due to appear for a hearing today at the High Court in Glasgow.

They are both accused of the attempted murder of Loretta Happell at a property in the city's Blairdardie last February.

The allegation includes claims the 58 year-old had a cable wrapped around her neck and her throat was compressed.

Prosecutors also state the mum was repeatedly struck with a knife or knives and that an intercom cable was cut making it 'inoperable'.

Happell and Hawthorn, both of the city's Drumchapel, had been expected to turn up in the dock for their first public court appearance.

But, neither were present when the case called.

Judge Lord Mulholland went on to order warrants for both Happell and Hawthorn
