Councillors will decide whether to force the Orange Order to change the route of a march this weekend away from a church where a Priest was allegedly attacked last month.

The order postponed a previous parade and rescheduled it to take place on Saturday but no new route has been agreed.

The council had asked for it to be re-routed to avoid going past St Alphonsus in the Calton where Canon Tom White was allegedly lunged at and spat on.

Now a special meeting of the Public Processions Committee has been called and could impose conditions on the march by Orange and Purple District 37.

A 24 year old man's appeared in court charged with spitting at Canon Thomas White on the 7th of July
