Woman dies in water off pier in Helensburgh as man is arrested in connection with an assault
Police have confirmed they were called to the scene at 5.15pm on Friday.

A woman has died in water off Helensburgh pier.
The woman, who was 25, was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene on Friday evening.
Emergency services were alerted at around 5.15pm, and investigations continue into the circumstances of the incident in the town in Argyll and Bute.
Images from the scene show police tape sealing off part of the pier and white-suited forensic officers analysing the area.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault.
Detective Superintendent Craig Willison said: "Around 5.15pm on Friday, 23 April, 2021, police were called to Helensburgh Pier on Colquhoun Street, Helensburgh, where it was reported a 25-year-old woman was in the water.
"A short time later, her body was recovered by the RNLI. Her family have been made aware and are being supported by officers.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this investigation and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
Fire crews were called at 17.17pm and have confirmed two appliances were sent.
