One man's died and three people have been injured following a crash in South Lanarkshire.

One man's died and three people have been injured following a crash in South Lanarkshire.

A Seat Ibiza car and Nissan Micra car collided on the B7078 Carlisle Road, approximately 1 mile north of Blackwood on Friday.

Emergency services attended however the 19-year-old passenger of the Seat car died at the scene.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Seat was taken to Wishaw General Hospital and hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

The 55-year-old male driver of the Nissan car is also being treated at Wishaw General Hospital where staff describe his condition as stable.

His 5-year-old female passenger is currently being treated for serious injuries in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where hospital staff describe her condition as serious.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
