David Hasselhoff starring in panto in Glasgow next year
David Hasselhoff will play Peter Pan villain Captain Hook in pantomime next year. Glasgow's SECC has announced it will host the US television actor -affectionately known as The Hoff'' - for its 2015 panto season. He replaces John Barrowman as the star attraction for the popular show at the Clyde Auditorium.
Hasselhoff, who found fame on Knight Rider and Baywatch, said: I love Scotland and I'm thrilled to be heading to Glasgow next year with panto.
It has become a terrific excuse to bring the whole family together to enjoy a wonderful and entertaining time at the SECC. I'm honoured to be part of Peter Pan and look forward to getting 'my hook' into the Clyde Auditorium next Christmas.''
Peter Pan will be produced by Qdos Entertainment, who paired Barrowman with the Krankies for a series of successful pantomimes including Jack and the Beanstalk and this year's Cinderella. The rest of the 2015 cast has yet to be confirmed. Executive producer Jonathan Kiley said: With David Hasselhoff confirmed we know that Peter Pan is going to be a truly swashbuckling and unmissable pantomime adventure.
David is a first-class actor and a great panto villain, with a sense of humour which our Glasgow audiences will love''.
Peter Pan will run at the SECC Clyde Auditorium from Saturday December 12, 2015 to Sunday January 3, 2016. Tickets are already on sale at www.secc.co.uk or by calling 0844 395 4000.
