Officers investigating car fire in Hamilton

Police want to speak to three men who were seen in balaclavas in the area.

Detectives are investigating after a car was set on fire in Hamilton yesterday afternoon.

A white BMW 5 series car was deliberately set on fire on Craigburn Street around 2pm.

It was extinguished and emergency crews say there are no reports of any injuries.

Police are particularly keen to trace three men who were seen in the area at the time.

They were all wearing balaclavas and made off in the direction of Tullymet Road in a white vehicle.

Detective Sergeant Jim Williamson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist to contact us.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who has private CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch.”
