Officers are investigating a deliberate fire in Ashgill at the weekend.
The alarm was raised around 1.55am on Sunday morning when a recreational ground was set on fire on Ashgillhead Road.
The blaze was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and no injuries were reported.
Their enquiries so far have shown a black hatchback style vehicle leaving the scene at the time of the incident.
Detective Constable Alex Murray said: “Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident, but it has left considerable damage.
“I am appealing to anyone in the area who has private CCTV or dash-cam footage to review this and see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our enquiries.
“Additionally, anyone who saw a black hatchback style vehicle in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact officers.”
