Officers investigate assault on woman in Helensburgh this morning

Officers are investigating an assault on a woman in Helensburgh this morning.

It happened at around 1 o'clock at an address in the Hood Court area.

A man entered the property via an unlocked door and assaulted the woman leaving her with injuries to her head and wrist.

She was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

The suspect is described as around 6ft in height, of heavy build, with a short scruffy brown beard. At the time of the incident he was wearing an orange high-vis type jacket with a reflective line worn with the hood up.

DC Adam McCreery said: “Understandably, this attack has left the victim very shaken and I am appealing to anyone with information that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch.

“We are particularly interested in anyone who may have CCTV in the area, to check their footage between 11.30pm and 1.30am.”
