NHS Lanarkshire says all three of its Accident and Emergency departments have reached full capacity.

On Tuesday morning, the health board said patients at University Hospital Wishaw, Monklands and Hairmyres were having to wait for more than 12 hours.

Bosses are asking people not to go, unless their condition is life-threatening.

New figures out this morning show waiting times at Scotland's emergency departments in July were at the worst monthly level on record.

69.9% of the 128,830 people at A&E units were seen within the target four hour timeframe.

That is compared to 71.3% the previous month.

4.483 people in July waited longer than 12 hours at A&E, while 11,884 waited longer than eight hours.
