A distillery based in Newton Stewart has created a single bottle of gin from snow brought over by the 'Beast from the East'.

Crafty Distillery infused their 'Hills and Harbour Gin' with freshly deposited 'blizzard grade' snow from right outside the distillery. They then had to chill filter and dilute it to 40%.

Owner Graham Taylor said: "By chill filtering it the gin is passed through a filter one more time and what you get is a crisper and more refined version of the Hills and Harbour Gin. Also, the snow being a really fresh and clean product it provides a softness and a different flavour.

"We only have a single bottle of this to give away and we just thought it was a interesting and positive take on the horrible weather we've all been experiencing recently."

Crafty Distillery are giving away the only bottle made to one lucky gin lover over on their Facebook.
