West Dunbartonshire Council have approved plans for a state-of-the-art health and care centre in Clydebank.

The £19million health centre will be built on the health quarter of the Queens Quay regeneration project.

The centre will aim to support the provision of high quality services and help improve the lives of residents.

Councillor Marie McNair, chair of West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership said: "This is a really exciting time for Clydebank and this project has been a long time coming.

"We have fought hard to get improved health services for our town.

"We are committed to enhancing our community health services and the centre will be the perfect place in which this vision can become reality."

"The centre will also kick start the development of our waterfront and our architects have come up with an excellent design that not honours our past but reflects a modern and confident Clydebank."

It is hoped the centre will provide Clydebank residents with the most up-to-date, high quality healthcare facilities.

The council plans to have the centre open in 2020.
