Murder Probe Launched after Man Killed in Glasgow Street Attack
A murder investigation has been launched after a man was attacked by two men in a city street.
Stephen Gannon, 36, was assaulted by the pair at Broomfield Lane, near to St. Monance Street in the Springburn area of Glasgow, at around 5.10pm yesterday.
The two men ran off in the direction of Balgrayhill Road.
Emergency services were called and Mr Gannon, who lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for information about the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Allan Burton, from Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team, said: "Extensive enquiries are ongoing to try to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
"We have detectives from across the country assisting with the investigation and we will have additional uniformed officers in the area.''
