Murder inquiry launched after Paisley death

Police have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man in Paisley on Sunday 23rd July 2017.

31-year old Craig McClelland of Paisley was found with serious injuries at around 11:20pm on in Tweed Avenue, Paisley.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he later died.

Relatives are aware and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team (West) said:

“Mr McClelland has died following a violent attack which took place in the middle of the street and it is vital that we trace the person or persons responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in Tweed Avenue, or the surrounding area, between 2230 and 0030 hours on Sunday 23 July to please come forward as you may be able to assist with our investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Paisley via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 4537/23. Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained."
