The devastated mum of a missing Strathaven man is making a special appeal to people to help find him a month after he disappeared.

Twenty five year-old Lewis Cuthbert left his home for Glasgow on Monday August 4 to go and busk in Glasgow - a hobby he had recently picked up.

Rosemary Cuthbert hasn't spoken to him since that afternoon and is asking people to think carefully about whether they've seen Lewis in the passing.

In an exclusive interview, she told Clyde 1: "I keep waiting for him to walk through the door, I know it seems stupid.

"As time goes on and on, I worry there have been no confirmed sightings of him whatsoever and no activity on his bank account.

"All of my family, friends and people who don't even know him are seriously worried.

"If Lewis could get in touch with someone - even if it's not me - to let us know he is safe that would be a huge relief."

Lewis told his mum he was going to busk in Glasgow the day he went missing.

Police say he was last seen on Lesmahagow Road on Monday August 4 around 4pm walking with a backpack, speaker and microphone.

He is believed to have been wearing a brown cord jacket with sheepskin collar.

Rosemary added: "If you're reading this Lewis, please get in touch.

"I love you so much and so do all of your family and friends.

"Let us know you're safe and well."

Chief Inspector Paul Doyle, local area commander, said: "We have significant resources dedicated to finding Lewis and we are urging the public to come forward with any information about his whereabouts.

"Over 300 vehicles have been stopped and the drivers questioned as part of this investigation and over 400 people have been spoken to.

“Door-to-door enquiries are still being carried out and there will continue to be a significant police presence in the area while our searches are ongoing.
