Motorcyclist killed in collision with car in Ayrshire

The crash happened on the A760 on Sunday afternoon

A 52-year-old motorcyclist's been killed in a crash with a car on the A760 between Kilbirnie and Largs in Ayrshire.

It happened at 3.45pm on Sunday, 6 November, and involved a black and red BMW K 1300 S motorbike and a Peugeot 2008 car.

The road was closed at the junction for the B784 for Dalry for around 9 hours for the police investigation.

Emergency services attended and a 52-year-old man, the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The road was closed for crash scene investigation work to be carried out and re-opened around 0.45am on Monday, 7 November.

Dash cam footage appeal

Sergeant Adnan Alam said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident who has not already contacted police to get in touch.

“In particular I would ask any motorists with dash-cam footage to check it to see if they may have information that could assist in our investigation.”
