Police update on investigation into burned body found in Motherwell
The human remains were discovered early on Saturday morning
Police investigating the discovery of a burned body of a man in the Margaret Drive area of Motherwell on Saturday morning have released an update after two days.
The area near a football pitch was sealed off and a white tent was erected at the scene as forensic staff carried out investigations.
The statement released today (Monday) says his family has been told about what's happened, although formal identification still needs to be done
The update says officers do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
Police say they would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding as enquiries were carried out in the area.
