Body found in search for missing Cambuslang woman Cat Gaskell

Although formal identification has still to take place, Cat's family has been informed.

Police have confirmed a body has been found in the search for missing woman Catriona Gaskell, who was known as Cat.

At around 10.45am this morning, officers searching for the missing woman discovered a body in wooded area in Newton, Cambuslang.

Although formal identification has still to take place, Cat's family has been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

Ms Gaskell's family has asked that their privacy be respected at this very distressing time.
