Urgent appeal launched for missing Girvan man
Stewart Mitchell was last seen on Friday and police are stepping up efforts to trace the 40-year-old.
Police are searching for a missing man from Girvan.
Officers are appealing for information which could lead to the tracing of 40-year-old Stewart Mitchell.
Stewart was reported missing from the Girvan area earlier this week and he was last seen in the Rowan Road area around 6pm on Friday 24 June.
Information recovered by police enquires have indicated he could have possibly travelled to the chapelhall area of Lanarkshire, so officers have extended their appeal to the greater Glasgow area also.
Stewart is described as being 6ft and of slim build. He has short brown hair and blue/green eyes.
Investigators say they are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
Inspector Paul Richmond, from Kilmarnock Police Station, said: “As time passes since Stewart was reported missing, our concerns for his welfare continue to grow. We’re appealing for anyone with any information on his whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible.
“If you believe you can assist out efforts, please call police on 101, quoting incident 0073 of 26 June.”
