Police appeal for missing Largs woman
Claire Paton vanished yesterday afternoon
Police are asking for sightings of a woman who has gone missing in Largs,.
Claire Paton was last seen yesterday around 9am on Thursday 25th when she dropped her car off at McConnechy’s Tyre & Auto Centre.
Claire is 45 and described as white, 5 ft, of stocky build, blue eyes, fair complexion and long dark brown. It is believed she was wearing dark clothing.
Local area inspector Lynsey Watters said today:
"We know Claire dropped her car off at a local garage in Largs and then called her husband later in the afternoon around 2.25pm to let him know that.
“She was due to be home around 6pm but when she didn’t arrive by 9pm, her family called police.
“Claire has been missing before and was traced by police in Glasgow City Centre. Officers are liaising with colleagues in Glasgow and have also been speaking with family and friends, as well as searching the local area and checking CCTV but so far there have been no other reported sightings of her.
“She has been dealing with some personal issues recently and this may have something to do with why she did not come home last night, however, whether or not this is the case, her family just want her to come home.
“We need to find her to make sure she is ok, so would appeal to anyone who may have seen her or has any information as to where she is, to contact police.
“We would ask in particular hotels, guest houses and maybe train, bus and taxi drivers, to see if they recognise her as a fare or guest recently and to get in touch with police.
“We would also appeal to Claire herself to get in touch. Her family are very upset and just want her to come home safe and well.”
Anyone with information about Claire’s whereabouts should contact officers at Saltcoats Police Station via 101. Please quote reference number 3726/25/01/18 when calling.
