Family of missing Kilwinning man 'becoming understandably more concerned'
Andrew Linton has been missing for almost three weeks
The family of a Kilwinning man are "becoming understandably more concerned" as it nears three weeks since he was last seen.
Police in Ayrshire are making a renewed appeal to track down Andrew Linton, who was last seen in the Corsehill area of Kilwinning around 5.35am on Wednesday, 22 February 2023.
In an update officers say they've established a man previously seen walking on Lochlibo Road at its junction with Cairnmount Road in Irvine, around 6.25am on Wednesday, 22 February, was not Andrew.
Police are still working to establish Andrew's movements and find if anyone has seen him - despite the previous sighting turning out not to be the 43-year-old.
He is described as white, around 5ft 6in in height, of stocky build, and speaks with a local Ayrshire accent.
He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, a light-coloured beanie hat, dark blue cargo trousers and black boots. It is believed he may be wearing a grey hooded jumper and carrying a red and grey ‘Karrimor’ rucksack with laces crisscrossed the front of the bag.
Inspector David Cameron said: “Andrew was last seen over two weeks ago and as time goes on his family are becoming understandably more concerned.
“I would like to thank the members of the public who got in touch to assist with our recent appeal.
“Although this sighting was determined not to be Andrew, our efforts to trace Andrew are continuing and we have been searching the local area as well as reviewing CCTV.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who believes they have seen Andrew, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us. Any information, no matter how small could help.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0524 of Wednesday, 22 February, 2023.
