Mum of missing Cumbernauld teen pleads for him to come home
14-year-old Lewis Kelly hasn't been at his house since Monday
The mum of a missing 14-year-old boy from Cumbernauld has pleaded for him to come home.
Lewis Kelly - who was last at his house on Monday 16th July - is believed to be staying elsewhere in the local area.
The teenager has gone missing before but has not been in touch since leaving the family home earlier in the week.
Speaking to Clyde News, his mum Sharon said: "Lewis is a handsome boy, he's about 5'6, slim build, he likes to stay fit. He's a social boy and likes to hang about with his friends.
"He knows his manners, how to speak to people, he's a kind boy. Everybody that knows him knows how lovely he is. But I know right now he's been led astray."
Sharon believes her son is staying in the local area.
She explained: "What's sparked this is that he's found people older than him. His friends are meeting him during the day, but there's older people keeping him at night, because I know none of his friends' mothers would put another mum through something like that without telling them."
Sharon and other family members have been posting regular updates on social media in an attempt to bring him home.
She said: "I'm numb. Absolutely numb. I'm gutted, I'm upset, I'm worried.
"He's in with the wrong people and he's just 14. I don't blame him. He's just not himself and people are leading him away from me. I just want him home. I've done everything.
"I'm getting posters put up around Cumbernauld, but somebody knows something. They have to get in touch anonymously with the police or with me.
"I love you, Lewis. He's got all the support: family, friends, people worried about him. He's loved, he's cared for. Whatever he's doing, it's okay. He just needs to come home, and to make sure he's safe. So many people are worried about him. He's an absolute diamond."
"I'm at the end of my tether. I really don't know what else to do. I'm lost without him."
Anyone with information on Lewis' whereabouts is urged to contact Police on 101.
