Yellow weather warning issued across Glasgow and the west
Met Office forecasters have said thunderstorms and flooding are possible later
A weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued across Glasgow and the west later to put a dampener on the end of the bank holiday weekend.
The Met Office yellow weather warning will come into force at 5pm until 11pm tonight.
As well as the risk from lightning, forecasters say there is a risk of localised flooding which could cause damage to homes and businesses.
Travellers are also being urged to plan ahead - with delays to train services possible and standing water, spray and potential hail leading to longer journey times for those travelling by car and bus.
It comes as much of Scotland is experiencing a day of rain and drizzle with some mist along the country's coasts.
