Two men stabbed in Cambuslang

Two men have been taken to hospital following a stabbing in Cambuslang.

Emergency services were called to Bridge Street at 11:57pm on Thursday (1st August).

The males aged 21 and 48 were rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The 21-year has since been released.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact them.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.57pm on Thursday, 1 August, 2024, we were called to a report of two men found injured near to Bridge Street, Cambuslang, following a serious assault on Mill Road, Cambuslang a short time earlier.

“The two men aged 21 and 48 years were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where they were treated for stab wounds. The 21-year-old man was released after treatment.

“Enquiries are continuing into this serious assault. Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 4540 of 1 August, 2024.”
