Two men have appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a man and six teenagers by driving a car at them.

21-year-old Gerald Gavan and Gary Owen, who's 19, allegedly drove at speed towards 21-year-old William Dearie and the group of teens.

The group included three 14-year-old girls, a 12 and a 13-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old boy.

The alleged murder bid is said to have taken place on March 24 on Stravanan Road in Castlemilk.

Gavan, represented by Paul McCormick and Owen represented by Michael Gallen, appeared in private on Monday at Glasgow Sheriff Court where they made no plea.

It’s alleged the pair drove a car “at speed” towards the Dearie and the teenagers and caused them to be hit by it, which threw them into the air, over a car and land on the ground.

It is claimed they reversed over the legs of one of the 14 year-old girls her to her severe injury and danger of life.

It's alleged the pair attempted to murder all seven of them.

Gavan, from East Kilbride and Owen, from Blantyre, also face a second charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice by setting fire to the car used in the alleged attempted murder.

Sheriff Barry Divers remanded both men in custody and they will return next week for a full committal hearing.
