The Scottish SPCA is looking for a new home for McTavish, the love bird, this Valentine’s day!

Scotland's animal welfare charity is hoping they can find McTavish a loving forever home, perhaps with another love bird to befriend.

The lonely guy recently came into the charity’s centre in Dumbarton, where he has become a favourite among staff.

Scottish SPCA Dumbarton centre manager Joe McDade said, “Lovely McTavish arrived at our centre through no fault of his own and, having been alone his full life, is desperate to find a feathered friend – perhaps another love bird.

“McTavish has always been allowed to have free roam in his home and is easily persuaded back into his cage with the aid of a tasty treat.”

If anyone can offer McTavish the loving home he deserves, please contact the Scottish SPCA centre in Dumbarton on 03000 999 999
