More than 600 cars have been stopped in the north of Glasgow in the hunt for a gunman who shot dead a 29-year-old last Monday.

Officers conducted a stop and interview operation in Ruchill last night between 9:30pm and 11:30pm, with detectives in Bilsland Drive, at the junction with Maryhill Road, speaking to motorists and members of the public for any information which could help catch Kenny Reilly’s killer.

As well as the vehicles stopped, more than 100 members of the public were spoken to as part of the operation.

Mr Reilly was shot as he sat in the passenger seat of a silver BMW at traffic lights on Bilsland Drive around 1025pm on Monday 16 April. He later died in hospital on Wednesday 18 April.

Detectives are also appealing for any dash cam footage from motorists who drive in and around the Bilsland Road and Maryhill Road areas.

Detective Superintendent Kenny Graham said: “A considerable amount of information was gathered last night and I would like to thank everyone involved for their patience and co-operation. The information is being assessed and will be followed up as appropriate. I am also seeking dash cam footage from any motorists who use that area. It’s possible their footage may have captured something which will assist us in piecing together exactly what has happened. It doesn’t necessarily have to be on the day of the crime, and we would ask you to provide us with any footage you may have for that area.”

Anyone with any dash cam footage can email it to: SCDMAJORINCIDENTSROOM1OSPREY2@SCOTLAND.PNN.POLICE.UK.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Maryhill Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 4332 of 16 April 2018. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
