The founder of a high-profile Glasgow food bank has been charged with fraud.
Julie Webster, 40, who launched Greater Maryhill Foodbank in 2013, was arrested on Tuesday following a long-running police investigation.
The food bank made headlines when it raised £15,000 in an appeal to replace a collection fund stolen from its Chapel Street office, but support from Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government was later withdrawn over concerns.
A separate investigation by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator was started and the food bank closed in March this year.
The fraud allegations are believed to relate to a four-figure sum of money.
A police spokeswoman said: "On August 16, a 40-year-old woman was charged in connection with alleged fraud offences.
"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
