Detectives have appealed for witnesses after a violent attack in Glasgow.

The incident happened at 9pm on Wednesday when two men forced their way into a property in Skipness Drive, Govan, and attacked a man and a woman with weapons before demanding money.

Police say the suspects left the property empty handed and made their way along Skipness Drive and into a white hatchback car.

The 37-year-old woman and 49-year-old man were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and released after treatment.

Detective Constable Larry Dempsey from Govan CID said: "This was a violent attack and it is crucial that we trace the people responsible as soon as possible.

"I would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw a disturbance in Skipness Drive around 9pm last night.

"I would also ask anyone who may have seen a white hatchback car in the surrounding area to please get in touch."
