Man who died in Lanarkshire crash named as Blane Rundell

A man who died in a crash near Lesmahagow last Thursday's being named as 22 year-old Blane Rundell.

Blane, from Lanarkshire, was driving a red Suzuki Alto when it collided with an HGV on the B7078 north of Kerse Roundabout.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured and a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.

Sergeant Chris McColm, of the Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit, said: ā€œOur thoughts are with Blaneā€™s family at this very difficult time.

ā€œWe are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone who may have information which has not yet been passed to police to get in touch.

ā€œAnyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0524 of 7 December.ā€
