Investigation underway after man attacked with weapon

A man has been seriously injured after being attacked with a weapon in East Ayrshire.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital after being assaulted outside a flat in Catrine in St Germain Street around half 7 on Saturday evening.
He sustained a number of injuries to his face and body - medical staff at the Queen Elizabeth describe his condition as stable.
The suspect is white, heavily built, had a dark beard and was wearing a beanie hat.
Police, who are still trying to establish a motive, say they're making door to door enquiries, checking CCTV footage and are appealing for dashcam footage.
Detective Constable Graham Cuthill, Police Scotland, said: “The motive for the attack has yet to be established.
"From our enquiries, the suspect walked off after the attack towards Wood Street. We would ask anyone in the area, especially motorists with dash-cam footage, or anyone who has information that may assist officers with their investigation, to contact police via 101.
