A man was left needing surgery on his ear after an assault at a nightclub.

The 29-year-old was injured in a disturbance at Bar Budda in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, on Sunday morning.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The suspect, who left before police arrived at the club, is white, around 6ft and wore a grey hooded top and black trousers.

Detective Constable Vhairi Macdonald said: "This was a very vicious assault which has left the victim with a very serious ear injury that requires surgery.

"We are currently viewing CCTV to identify the suspect and anyone else involved in the disturbance and appeal to anyone who was within the club at the time the incident occurred and either witnessed the disturbance or the assault taking place, to contact police immediately.''
