A man who lives near to where a 38-year-old man was attacked in Uddingston at the weekend is telling us he is shocked detectives have started a murder inquiry.
Police have spent a second day knocking on doors around Generals Gate as they piece together what happened to David Graham who died on his way to hospital in Glasgow.
"This whole situation is upsetting"
Jim Colvin has lived on the estate for 55 years and knew David's family.
He exclusively told Clyde 1: "I knew his dad and uncle, they stayed here for many years.
"They were very nice, very quiet and very respectable.
"This whole situation is upsetting."
Part of Old Glasgow Road was also closed for almost 48 hours which meant those living inside the cordon who wanted to leave their homes had to sign in and out with officers.
An online portal has also been started where people can give information relating to David's death anonymously.
Jim added: "I usually walk these roads at night with my dog and I had been out a couple of hours before it all happened.
"It is usually very quiet down here and I've never had any problems.
"The town is very subdued and quiet just now, everyone is keeping to themselves."
