Man to go on trial accused of stabbing three people in Springburn
Thomas McGovern is also alleged to have assaulted another man, he denies all the charges
A man is to go on trial accused of stabbing three people and assaulting another in Springburn.
Thomas McGovern, 35, allegedly attacked two men and a woman with a knife in November 2021.
Court papers state McGovern assaulted Thomas Simpson by attempting to strike him on the body with the blade on November 10.
McGovern is then said to have struck him on the head to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
He faces a second allegation of assaulting Francis O'Rourke Ferguson at the same time and place by striking him on the head with a knife.
It is stated McGovern went on to pursue and strike him on the head again with the weapon to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
McGovern is further said to have assaulted Demi-Lee Kennedy at a separate Springburn property ten days later.
He is said to have struck her on the face with a knife to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
McGovern is also claimed to have attacked George McAvoy by repeatedly punching him on the head to his injury.
A final charge alleges he had a knife without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority at the same time and place.
On Monday McGovern pleaded not guilty to all six charged at the High Court in Glasgow.
A trial was fixed for November next year by Judge Lord Matthews.
