Man to stand trial accused of Glasgow murder more than 20 years ago
A man is to stand trial charged with the murder of a woman in Glasgow more than 20 years ago. Zhi Min Chen is accused of killing Tracy Wylde at her flat in Barmulloch, Glasgow in November 1997.
Prosecutors claim the 43 year-old bit Miss Wylde on the chest and struggled with her.
The murder charge then alleges Chen compressed the 21 year-old's throat with his hand and strangled her.
Chen appeared for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
His QC Donald Findlay pleaded not guilty on his behalf. Mr Findlay added: “I am content that a trial be fixed.”
Lord Mulholland set a trial due to begin next April. The case could last around 15 days.
