Man taken to hospital after he was attacked in Hamilton

Detectives in Lanarkshire are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Hamilton.

The incident happened around 11.55pm on Friday, 2 June on Pollok Avenue.

The 40-year-old man was walking on the pavement, accompanied by a woman, when they were approached by a group of three or four unidentified men.

They were subsequently involved in a disturbance, resulting in the man suffering injuries which required hospital treatment.

The men involved the drove off in a car in the direction of the Hillhouse area of Hamilton.

Detective Constable Sarah McNeil said: “Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or who saw or heard a disturbance to get in touch.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0007 of 3 June, 2023, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
