Man suffers head injury in attack in Glasgow
24 year old victim in serious condition in hospital after assaulted on Pollokshaws Road early yesterday morning
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was attacked in the southside of Glasgow.
The 24 year old was was walking along Kilmarnock Road, near to Tesco Express, when he became involved in a row with another man yesterday morning at around 0210 hours.
The victim was punched in the face and then fell to the ground in the attack
Following the assault the man, who was in the company of a woman at the time, ran off south along Kilmarnock Road turning into Newlandsfield Road.
A taxi driver then stopped and alerted police to a man lying injured on the street.
The victim was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for a head injury.
Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
The man involved is described as in his mid 20s, with black hair and wearing a black shirt, black trousers and black shoes.
The woman he was with is described as in her mid 20s, with long blonde hair and wearing a cream dress with black high heels.
Detective Constable Jim Duncan from Cathcart CID said: “I would appeal to anyone who was on Kilmarnock Road around the time of the attack and may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.
