A former hospital consultant is to stand trial accused of having a firearms haul – including three sub-machine guns.
Martin Watt today/yesterday faced a total of 14 charges at the High Court in Glasgow.
They include an accusation that he possessed weapons at a house in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire “with intent by means to endanger life”.
Prosecutors state he had three Skorpion sub-machine guns, two Valtro self-loading pistols as well as a sound moderator.
It is also claimed there were 1508 “live bulleted cartridges” and a “noxious gas”.
The indictment further states Watt had possession of the drug Ketamine.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred between March 2013 and May 2017.
Watt's QC John Scott today/yesterday pled not guilty on his behalf during the short hearing.
Judge Lord Beckett set a trial due to start in February next year.
