Man stabbed in 'random' attack on New Year's Day
A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in a 'random' attack on New Year's day in Clydebank.
Detectives say the attack on the man, who's 40, is being treated as attempted murder.
He was walking in Onslow Road, near the railway bridge at Drumry Railway Station, when he was set upon by a group of people at about 5.30am.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with stab wounds and is in a serious condition in the hospital's high dependency unit.
Police have reviewed CCTV footage of the area and have appealed for information from people nearby at the time of the attack.
Detective Inspector Grant MacLeod said: 'This appears to be a totally random attack, with no apparent motive, leaving a man seriously injured. Despite it being fairly early in the morning, there were various people in the vicinity at the time of the attack and I am appealing to these people to get in touch.'
