There's an appeal for witnesses after a man was stabbed at the O2 Academy.
Police Scotland released the following statement:
"Police are appealing for information following a serious assault within the O2 Academy, Eglinton Street, Gorbals, Glasgow, on Saturday 27 August 2016.
Around 0130 hours this morning, a 29 year old man was stabbed following a disturbance at the Island Bar in the venue.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was released after treatment.
His attacker is described as white, in his late teens to early 20s, between 5 ft7 and 6ft in height, with short dark hair. He was wearing a white polo shirt and light coloured knee length shorts.
Detective Constable Lee-Anne Miller, Greater Glasgow CID, said today:
“The injured man was standing in the bar area when he became involved in an altercation with the suspect which then led to a fight in which he was stabbed.
“Thankfully no one else was injured but with the number of people about, this could have escalated quite easily.
“We are working with staff from the venue, who quickly stepped in to stop the fight, and we are checking CCTV inside the premises to identify the person responsible for the attack.
“The gig was packed at the time of the assault and a number of people have been spoken to regarding what they saw, however, I am still keen that anyone who witnessed the incident contact police.”
Information can be passed to officers at Govan CID via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
