Man Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car

Police Scotland officers are appealing for information following a serious road crash on Drumbathie Road, Airdrie on Saturday 29 November 2014. Around 2225 hours, the driver of a silver Mazda car was travelling on Drumbathie Road when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was lying in the road. Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to Monklands Hospital with serious injuries. Medical staff describe the 46 year-old man’s condition as critical. The driver of the Mazda car was badly shaken by the incident but was not injured. Enquiries so far have revealed that the driver of a VW polo car was also at the scene and stopped to assist, however, officers are appealing to any other motorists who may have used that road and noticed anything to contact them. Officers from Road Policing in Motherwell are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them via the police non-emergency number, 101.
