Man seriously assaulted on Royston Road
Police received a report of a 32-year-old man being injured after he flagged a taxi down near to St Roch’s Secondary School.
A man has been seriously assaulted in the north-east of Glasgow.
Around 11.30pm on Thursday 19 April, police received a report of a 32-year-old man being injured after he flagged a taxi down in Royston Road near to St Roch’s Secondary School.
The man made his way to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is undergoing treatment for a facial injury.
Enquiries carried out so far have revealed that the man has been a victim of an assault, although the exact location of the attack is unknown. Officers believe it happened around 11:20pm somewhere in the Royston Road area of Blochairn.
There is limited information about the incident and the attackers, however, officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas for any information which will assist the investigation. Officers are also carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Martin Smith said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are in the process of establishing the circumstances of what has happened. We don’t know why the man has been attacked and I am appealing to local residents and members of the public, who were in the area around the time of the incident to contact us. Any small piece of information could lead us to identifying the attacker and establish the motive for the assault.”
