Police in Maryhill are continuing enquiries after a man was robbed in Maryhill.

The 51-year-old man was walking on the canal path between Chapel Street and Lochburn Road on Wednesday morning when two men approached him. One of the men restrained him whilst the other one removed personal items from his pockets.

The two men then ran off leaving the 51-year-old man uninjured but extremely shaken.

The suspects are described as being white, aged between 20-25 years, average height and build and were wearing casual clothing.

Detective Constable Geraldine Josey at Maryhill CID said: “The Canal Path was relatively busy at this time and I am sure that people in the community will have either witnessed the robbery or have seen the suspects hanging around the area prior to the incident taking place or running off afterwards.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact officers at Maryhill CID via telephone number 101.”
