Man recovering in hospital after serious assault in Paisley

The 55 year old was taken to the QEUH after the incident on Saturday evening

A man is recovering in hospital after being seriously assaulted in Paisley on Saturday evening.

The incident happened on Causeyside Street near Forbes Place when two men started shouting at the 55 year old, before following him to Marshalls Lane at around 5.10pm.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University hospital after being assaulted on the lane, and staff are describing his condition as serious.

Detective Inspector Neil Martin said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances and gather more information on the two men responsible for this violent attack.

“The town centre would have been busy at the time of this assault. I urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist our investigation to contact us as soon as possible.”
