Man recovering in hospital after being stabbed in Hamilton
A man’s been stabbed in broad daylight while out walking his dog in Hamilton.
A man’s been stabbed in broad daylight while out walking his dog in Hamilton.
The 40-year-old was making his way through wooded area near Whistleberry Crescent at around 3:45pm on Friday when a man approached him and told him to hand over his mobile.
When the victim refused- he was stabbed in the stomach.
He was rushed to Hairmyres hospital where staff describe his condition as stable.
After the incident the suspect ran off, possibly in the direction of Margaret Road. He’s described as white, 20-29 years old and was wearing a red hooded top with a white emblem on the front and dark trousers.
Detective Constable Grant Robertson at Cambuslang CID said:
“This was a totally unprovoked, violent attack on a man who was merely out walking his dog in the middle of the afternoon. He has been left with a serious injury and it is vital that we catch the suspect as he may harm someone else.
“I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Whistleberry Crescent or nearby and may have seen the suspect hanging around the area or anyone else who recognises his description.”
