Man recovering in hospital after Dumbarton attack

A 29 year man has been seriously injured after a disturbance in Dumbarton last night.

A 29 year man has been seriously injured after a disturbance in Dumbarton last night.

He has been taken to hospital in Paisley where he's being treated for stab wounds and police are combing CCTV from the High Street area of the town.

It happened around 8.30pm and the suspects are described as male, aged between 20's and 30's, stocky build, 5ft 9 in height wearing tight top.

Detective Inspector Fiona Macarthur said:

“We know there was some sort of altercation between the injured man and two men in the High Street, but the motive for the attack is still unknown. I am sure there would have been people out and about around the time of the incident who may have witnessed the incident or has some knowledge in connection with it and I would urge them seen something which could assist us. I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.
