Man punched in the face while waiting for taxi at George Square

Detectives are asking anyone who might've seen the attack to come forward

Police in Glasgow are appealing for information after a man was attacked in the city centre.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday the 28th of January.

Around 4.30am, a 41-year-old man was waiting at a taxi rank on George Square when another man punched him to the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

The man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment of a head injury and was later discharged.

Constable Martin Howie, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault and who hasn’t already spoke to officers to get in touch.”
