Man with pram attacked in Glasgow in broad daylight

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information after a man was assaulted whilst pushing a pram in the south side of Glasgow, in broad daylight on Saturday 28th October 2017.

Around 10:55am a 26-year old man was pushing a three year old boy in the pram along Vennard Gardens when a man approached him and demanded his phone.

When the victim refused, the suspect attacked him.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The suspect is described as white, between 35 and 40 years old, 6ft in height, of slim build, with dark stubble and a gaunt appearance.

At the time of the attack he was wearing a blue fleece jacket and a blue tammy hat which has a large white badge/motif on the front.

Detective Constable Gary Cassidy from the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect however we are still trying to piece together his movements in the aftermath of the incident.

“There are various streets and back gardens of properties in the surrounding area where he may have managed to hide and I would appeal to anyone living locally who noticed a man matching the above description to please get in touch. I would also ask residents to check their back gardens for any discarded items of clothing, as there is always the possibility that he may have tried to change his appearance.

“Information from members of the public is absolutely vital to this investigation and to us finding this despicable individual. The response from the community and local businesses has been excellent so far and I would continue to ask for their support.
