Man knocked unconscious during Clydebank attack

A police probe’s been launched after a man was attacked in the Faifley area of Clydebank.

The 27-year-old was walking on Knowes football field, Langside Drive, when he was approached by two men who knocked him unconscious on Friday night.

When the victim awoke, the men were gone, and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to a serious head injury. He has since been released.

The first suspect is described as between 6ft and 6ft5, 27 to 30 years old, thin, and was wearing a black hooded top, jeans and trainers.

The second suspect is described as 5ft7, between 27 and 30 years old, stocky, and was wearing a dark zipper top, jeans and trainers.

Detective Inspector Andy Doherty from Clydebank CID said: “This was a sickening and totally unprovoked assault and enquiries are underway to trace the two men responsible.

“We will not tolerate this type of violent behaviour and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who may have seen two men matching the above descriptions in the Faifley area on Friday night to come forward.
