A man who died in a crash in Port Glasgow on Monday, 16 December, 2024 has been named as Scott McFadden, 38, from the local area.

The incident happened around 9.55pm on Clune Brae.

Mr McFadden was the passenger in a Volkswagen Golf which struck a parked and unoccupied Peugeot car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested and released pending further enquiries. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Robert Mackie, of the Road Policing Unit in Dumbarton, said: "Our thoughts are with Scott McFadden's family and friends at this difficult time.

"Our enquiries into the full circumstances of this collision are ongoing.

"I would urge anyone who may have information who has not yet spoken to police to contact 101, quoting reference number 3838 of 16 December."
