Man jailed for life for brutal murder of dad-of-one
George Smith punched, kicked and strangled 45 year old Steven Larkin in Castlemilk
A man who brutally murder a man in Glasgow's been jailed for life.
George Smith was locked up for a minimum 14 years after he beat and strangled Steven Larkin in Castlemilk in December 2014.
Smith punched, kicked and stamped on the 45 year-old before throttling him with a scarf.
The 55 year-old returned to the High Court in Glasgow having earlier been convicted of murder.
Judge Lord Matthews said the death had brought "anguish" to those close to dad-of-one Mr Larkin.
As the sentence was passed, a large group of Mr Larkin's family and friends in court celebrated by clapping as well as exchanging high-fives.
